Is Ongoing

The need for safe shelter, warm meals, and compassionate care for those in crisis in our region did not end last year.

Crisis does not end on a calendar, and neither does the need for safe shelter, warm meals, and compassionate care. The Salvation Army's Emergency Shelter in Ashland operates daily to provide stability, dignity, and hope for those who have nowhere else to turn.

This Mission Essential campaign seeks to raise $200,000 between June and November 2026 to help sustain operations, staff, meals, and shelter services throughout the year. Your support ensures our doors remain open for neighbors in crisis.

Through Compassion

Michael's Story 

After a series of unexpected setbacks, Michael found himself without stable housing and unsure of his next step. When he arrived at The Salvation Army’s Emergency Shelter in Ashland, he was welcomed with a safe place to rest, warm meals, and encouragement from staff who believed in him. With that stability, Michael was able to reconnect with family members and begin searching for employment. Today, he is working steadily and saving toward a place of his own. He often shares that having a place to regroup made all the difference in rebuilding his future.

Sarah's Story

Sarah came to the shelter during a time of overwhelming change, needing a place to feel safe and regain her footing. Through the support of daily meals, a stable environment, and compassionate care, she was able to focus on next steps without fear or uncertainty. Staff helped connect her to additional resources, giving her the confidence to move forward. Within a few months, Sarah secured employment and transitioned into more stable living arrangements. She now looks back on her time at the shelter as a turning point that gave her hope and a path forward.
