Volunteer Opportunities

There are many different ways to get involved with The Salvation Army. All of our volunteer opportunities are coordinated locally, where our staff understands exactly how you can be of the most help to the most people.

Boys and Girls CLub

Volunteers would follow a structured interactive learning environment. Activites would include hands on STEM projects, arts & crafts, or athletic exercises with the youth.

Food Pantry

We have volunteers that drive to several grocery stores that pick up donated food items. When the van arrives at the food pantry, volunteers unload the truck, weigh the crates, separate and bag items.

On distribution days, we have carts that we fill with fresh produce, meat, and non-perisable items. In April, our Food Pantry gave out 16,516 pounds of food and served 1,387 people of the Alamance community.

Family Store

Volunteers could price merchandise, collect donations from customers that drop-off clothing items, sort clothes by sections, and hang up clothes.
