MARCHING ALONG:

A NIGHT OF MUSIC AND ARTS WITH THE SALVATION ARMY

The Salvation Army is well-known for its charitable works: helping the homeless, giving toys to those in need, providing programs for those affected by addiction, and raising money through that annoying red kettle at Christmas! You may not know that The Salvation Army is a church and meets for worship every Sunday all over the world.  Also, you may not know that The Salvation Army has outstanding musical and creative arts ensembles with a professional level of performance, and a heart for ministry.

Our concert will feature three outstanding ensembles: The Southern Staff Band, under the leadership of Nick Simmons-Smith, comprises 32 brass musicians performing uplifting and inspirational music at a professional performance level.  The Staff Songsters (Robert Snelson) is an “all-star” choir drawn from the 15 Southern States.  Territorial Arts Ministry (Bethany Farrell) is a group of actors and dancers who are passionate about sharing the Gospel with all kinds of groups.  This flexible group provides humorous skits, moving dances, and applied theater.

The concert will include uplifting music, moving creative arts, a chance to meet the performers, a Gospel challenge and lots of fun! Come be inspired by the wonderful musicians and artists of the Salvation Army in a night to remember!

The USA Southern Staff Songsters exist to glorify God, to present the message of salvation through Jesus Christ, to promote vocal music in The Salvation Army, and to inspire others by modeling excellence in choral singing. The Southern Staff Songsters were commissioned as a formal music ministry ensemble of The Salvation Army in Atlanta, GA in 1992.  Since then, the Songsters have faithfully supported various Salvation Army events.

Led by Robert Snelson, this ensemble represent the fifteen states that form the geographically expansive USA Southern Territory with the singers traveling hundreds of miles for rehearsals and territorial events.  A high caliber of musicianship and a strong motivation for an effective music ministry are hallmarks of these men and women.
