MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Salvation Army of Macon is kicking off the annual Red Kettle Campaign.

Sargeant Sarah Sturdivant says the Red Kettle Campaign is essential in funding critical services, meals, and shelter for families, children, veterans, and individuals in need. Sturdivant says the Red Kettle Campaign is the largest fundraiser for the Salvation Army.

Development Director at the Salvation Army of Macon, Cheryl Coleman, says the goal is to raise $100,000 this year.

Coleman says there are several ways to get involved:

  • Local businesses can become Kettle Stand Sponsors. Sponsorships range from $500 to $2,500.
  • Participants can set up a virtual kettle, share it with friends and family, and see who can raise the most.
  • Participants can volunteer as bell ringers. Volunteers can sign up for a shift at RegistertoRing.com by searching for ‘Macon, GA.’
