Extreme temperatures can be deadly, but sometimes, barriers – many of them financial – prevent individuals from being able to stay cool. These barriers might include being unable to pay for air conditioner (A/C) repair, having a landlord who refuses to fix the A/C or refusing to turn on the A/C to avoid high electric bills. Ongoing financial hardship caused by the increasing cost of fuel and groceries may magnify these barriers.
Thanks to a donor-designated fund from The Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, The Salvation Army of Metro Atlanta is giving away 1,500 fans at various Salvation Army locations.
