Hagerstown Salvation Army red kettles raises $87,000, even with a shortage of bell ringers
People opened their wallets this holiday shopping season and helped the Hagerstown Salvation Army Corps raise $87,000.
While that is less than the $100,000 the Salvation Army hoped to collect leaving them $13,000 short of its goal, officials are still thrilled.
“We’re very excited,” Capt. Jimmy Taylor said. “We didn’t know what to expect, because of COVID, and we had a very hard time getting bell ringers … but we’re absolutely thrilled.” more
