How We Help

Social Services:

The Social Services of Cleveland meets urgent care needs daily to individuals and families struggling to meet their basic needs.  Daily showers are provided to our friends without homes Monday -Friday offering a place to warm up on a cool day and cool off and summers heat.  Hygiene items are provided daily to assist our friends to help them maintain the dignity that good hygiene preserves.  In addition, we assist families and individual with help for utility bills, non-addictive prescription assistance, Alcohol and Drug addiction assessment and referral to residential treatment programs at no cost to the client, emergency food assistance, warming shelter for nights when temps are below freezing and other urgent needs that arise.  We collaborate with other agencies to ensure that the spectrum of care needs are met with the most efficacy and that best suit client needs. In addition we provide hot weekend meals for our friends in need when other agencies are closed.

Spiritual Care

The love of God is at the heart of what we do. Our service-oriented
approach to faith is shared each Sunday at services throughout the country.

Pathway of Hope

The Salvation Army’s Pathway of Hope initiative provides individualized services to families with children who desire to take action to break the cycle of crisis and vulnerability that repeats generation after generation. It seeks to address the root causes of poverty in addition to The Army’s history of compassionate serving.

By helping families overcome challenges like unemployment, unstable housing, and lack of education, we can lead families down a path toward increased stability and, ultimately, self-sufficiency.
