The Salvation Army recognizes that holidays can bring added financial and emotional stress for families in need. We offer a variety of services to help families and individuals make it through more difficult holiday seasons.
Our Christmas Ministry looks to serve the community by ensuring everyone is able to enjoy a time of joy and peace during the holiday season. We want to empower families who find themselves unable to afford meals and other activities due to tough economic difficulties. The families we serve include those with children in the local school systems and those with an incarcerated parent.
Our Angel Tree Program is for Angels 0–12. Program includes holiday food.
Holiday food assistance is available for individuals and families who do not qualify for Angel Tree.
When disaster strikes, The Salvation Army responds quickly, mobilizing its officers, employees, and volunteers wherever needed.
Donate TodayThe Salvation Army of Owensboro, KY is always ready to serve in the face of disaster. Historically The Salvation Army has served during snow/ice storms, tornados, and river flooding. We are here to serve our neighbors who find themselves affected by these natural disasters. For more information about how to join our list of Emergency Disaster Services Volunteers for local disaster response, please contact Lt. Judah Irvin for more information and training.
A safe place to call home is a fundamental need. Whether providing rent/mortgage assistance to keep someone in their home or finding a warm bed for someone who is already outside, The Salvation Army works to ensure the safety and dignity of all God’s children.
We provide summer camps and after-school programs for
students of all ages, and numerous music, art, and athletic
programs for aspiring youth.
