Faye's Story: Transformative Power of Hope and Support in Stillwater, Oklahoma

May 4, 2023 | by Chris Johnson

At The Salvation Army, we believe in the power of compassion, kindness, and empathy. We strive to create a community where everyone feels valued and cared for, regardless of their circumstances. That's why we are thrilled to share the story of Faye and Paulette, two incredible individuals who embody the spirit of our organization at The Salvation Army of Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Faye's journey to recovery is a testament to the transformative power of hope and support. When she first came to The Salvation Army of Stillwater, she was struggling with addiction and homelessness. But Paulette, Social Services Director for the Stillwater Corps, didn't just give her resources and send her on her way. She took the time to listen to Faye's story, to understand her needs, and to offer her the support and encouragement she needed to begin her journey to recovery.

Paulette provided Faye with agency referrals for addiction recovery programs, housing authority, and assistance with food. But she also provided something else - a sense of hope and belief in Faye's ability to overcome her challenges. Faye took those resources and worked hard to get clean and find a stable home for herself. And when she returned to our office, she wanted to thank Paulette and The Salvation Army for being her encourager and for taking the time to listen to her needs.

Faye's story is just one example of the impact that The Salvation Army is making in the communities we serve. We are proud to be an organization that is dedicated to helping those in need, to offering support and hope to those who are struggling. We are grateful to Paulette and all of our staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of those we serve.

We hope that Faye's story will inspire others to seek the help they need and to believe in their ability to overcome their challenges. We believe that everyone deserves a chance to live a happy, healthy, and fulfilling life, and we will continue to do our part to make that a reality for as many people as we can.
