Lawton's Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary Hosts Its 27th Annual Style Show
The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary in Lawton is experiencing growth in its membership through engaging activities that also raise awareness about the organization's vital programs and services for the community. Since its inception in 1985, the Women’s Auxiliary has been a dedicated supporter of the Salvation Army in Lawton, committing itself to volunteering on many projects and organizing numerous fundraisers. This year marked the 27th edition of the Style Show, a beloved event on Lawton's calendar. With close to 200 attendees, the show successfully raised nearly $13,000 to further the organization's mission.
The Style Show was a multifaceted affair, featuring a silent auction, a captivating style presentation, a dazzling jewelry booth, and a delightful luncheon. Local merchants generously contributed the latest fashions, adding to the event's allure and ensuring its success.
Comprising 43 dedicated members and led by Auxiliary President Susan Nance, the Women’s Auxiliary tirelessly supports The Salvation Army, contributing close to 1,700 volunteer hours in 2023 alone. Their commitment extends across various initiatives, from assisting at the shelter and thrift store to spearheading the Angel Tree program during Christmas. Through their dedication and the proceeds from their diverse fundraising efforts, they bolstered The Salvation Army with remarkable donations exceeding $37,000 in 2023.
