A Growing Need in Our Community

Women and families are one of the fastest‑growing populations experiencing homelessness. Too often, their needs go unmet due to the lack of safe, supportive shelter options designed specifically for them.

The Salvation Army of Clarksville is responding by launching a shelter for women and women with children—providing not just a place to sleep, but the structure and support needed to rebuild lives.

Families represent one‑third of all people experiencing homelessness*

Family homelessness increased nearly 40% in the last year*

Up to 80% of homeless mothers report experiencing domestic violence*

*All statistics cited are based on national data from HUD and widely referenced homelessness research studies.

Real Stories. Real Impact.

Behind every door is a story of resilience, dignity, and hope.

Latonya

Latonya came to The Salvation Army afraid she and her children would be left outside during an ice storm. Instead, they were welcomed with unconditional love into a warm, safe place that felt like home. In just a few days, she was able to regain focus and begin getting her life back on track, supported by staff who treated her family with dignity and care. Latonya says she felt the presence of God and is thankful for The Salvation Army during a critical moment.

Devyn Hall

Devyn, a Clarksville native, came to The Salvation Army with his girlfriend and their young son after unexpected circumstances left them without a plan or stable place to stay. The Salvation Army provided shelter and food, giving their family a sense of relief and the stability needed to focus on next steps. With encouragement from compassionate staff and connections to community resources, including baby supplies, Devyn was able to secure a construction job. He says the support they received was not just essential, but truly groundbreaking for his family, meeting both their physical and spiritual needs during a critical moment.
