The Salvation Army Host Fundraiser to Support Vital Services for George & Jackson Counties
Mississippi Gulf Coast [September 16, 2024] — The Salvation Army of the MS Gulf Coast is excited to announce the annual Rubber Duck Derby Day, to be held on Saturday, September 21, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Moss Point Riverfront. This family-friendly event promises a day of fun, entertainment, and community support.
The event will feature:
- Live music by Mississippi Song Writers
- Food vendors
- A special Jeep showcase
- Exciting rubber duck races with fantastic prizes for the winners.
- Special Guests: Miss Mississippi Volunteer
Attendees will have the chance to "adopt" rubber ducks to enter the riverfront race, with proceeds going directly to support vital programs and services provided by The Salvation Army.
- A Duckling can be adopted for $15
- A Duck Pack (4 ducks) is available for $40
- A Duck Flock (12 ducks) for $100
“Rubber Duck Derby Day is more than just a fun race—it’s an opportunity for the community to come together and support the essential services we offer throughout the year,” said Captain Carla Hetrick of The Salvation Army in George & Jackson Counties. “We are grateful for the generosity of our sponsors and the support of our community as we work together to make a difference.”
Participants do not need to be present to win prizes. All funds raised will help The Salvation Army continue providing programs for children, families, and individuals in need in George & Jackson Counties.
