The Salvation Army Invites You to Give with JOY

Mississippi Gulf Coast (November 20, 2025) — This holiday season, The Salvation Army invites the community to Give with Joy—turning small acts of generosity into year-round help for neighbors in need. Every dollar given to the Red Kettle Campaign stays local to fund food, emergency financial assistance, and pathways to stability long after the holidays end.

This year’s coastwide goal is $280,000 and achieving it means more families keep the electricity on; more families have groceries, and more children sleep in their own beds—not just at Christmas, but throughout the year.

“The kettle tradition began in 1891 when a Salvation Army captain set out a simple ‘crab pot’ to feed those in need,” said Major Paul Egan. “Today, Give with Joy carries that same heart—your gift, given gladly, meets a real need right here at home.”

The funds raised at Christmas through our Red Kettle Campaign help sustain The Salvation Army’s local programs in the bottom six coastal counties. These gifts make a direct impact in the community, as all dollars raised feed struggling families, help keep seniors safe and warm, and provide single parents with tools to get back on their feet including workforce development.
