The Salvation Army Mobilizes Hurricane Francine Response Teams

 

Mississippi Gulf Coast—[September 11, 2024]—In response to Hurricane Francine’s potential impact, The Salvation Army is mobilizing response teams from across the region to provide swift and effective relief services to impacted communities. All teams will report to the Center of Hope—Gulfport tonight, with an anticipated rollout for tomorrow morning. 

 

The Salvation Army is fully prepared to deploy a comprehensive range of support to the impacted areas, including emotional and spiritual care officers, logistical support, and essential supplies. 

 

Will Trueblood, the Director of Emergency Disaster Services for The Salvation Army Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi Division, will lead the Incident Management Assistance Team (IMAT). The IMAT includes a specialized team of trained officers and staff from the tri-states.

  • Major Brenda Shafer, Alexandria Salvation Army – Emotional and Spiritual Care Officer
