Salvation Army’s holiday campaigns need extra assistance due to COVID-19

For Salvation Army Capt. Tom Kenyon, the holiday season wouldn't be the same without the Red Kettle campaign's bells.
"If you had to pick one sound that reminds people it's Christmastime in the city, what would you choose?" he asked. "A bell, you say.
"Did you know the song ‘Silver Bells' was written about The Salvation Army? The sound of the bells say there's still hope, there is still joy here on earth. It's a reminder we can all experience heaven on earth today."
The Salvation Army Cartersville Corps launched its Red Kettle drive Friday with bell ringers accepting financial donations from the community through Dec. 24 at various locations across Bartow. Volunteers will be stationed each Monday…
