The Salvation Army Kicks Off Annual Red Kettle Campaign
Texas City, TX (November 11, 2021) –The Salvation Army of Galveston County will kick off the annual Red Kettle Campaign at their Texas City location on Friday, November 19 at 11:45am. The divisional Brass Quartet will be on hand with songs of the season, the canteen will provide lunch and of course the iconic Red Kettle will be on-hand to receive the first gifts of the season. Friends and supporters of The Salvation Army are invited to come by to celebrate the start of the season. The address is 4801 Emmett F. Lowry Expressway.
The campaign goal for 2021 is $250,000, or 10% of the annual budget. "With 28 physical kettles and a virtual one, each kettle will need to raise $8,650 during the season to reach the goal. This will help us start 2022 in a favorable position to continue serving those in need who come to us for food, shelter and emergency assistance," said Major Nathanael Doria of The Salvation Army. "Extra events like the kick-off or sponsorships help bring down the total per kettle and get us to the goal."
Cook Ford of Texas City is once again providing the use of vehicles to be used for the Red Kettle Campaign and Angel Tree program. The cars will be on display at the Kick-off.
