Westlake Ace Fan Drive: 10 Years of Keeping Texans Cool
As Westlake Ace Hardware and The Salvation Army kick off the 2022 Fan Drive, the two organizations mark 10 years of helping those in need beat the heat.
Summer heat can be a threat to anyone, especially the elderly, those with medical conditions, or people without air conditioning. That’s why Westlake Ace Hardware’s annual Fan Drive to benefit The Salvation Army has been a vital lifeline to many people in Texas.
What started at one location in Hutchinson, Kansas, has grown to 127 stores across the country. Since beginning the Fan Drive, more than $105,000 has been raised in the 13 participating stores in Texas. That equates to 7,000 fans given to help people fight the brutal summer heat. Nationally, the partnership has helped raise $650,000 in the past decade.
“The Fan Drive is just one of the many ways we help the communities we serve in Texas,” said Laura Byrne-Harris, vice president of merchandising and marketing for Westlake Ace Hardware. “Our commitment extends far beyond offering world-class service and products – it means we are truly invested in our stores’ communities, and what we do positively impacts the lives of our friends, customers, and neighbors.”
Stop by a participating Westlake Ace Hardware location June 1-19, 2022, to round up your purchase, or donate the amount of your choice. Funds will be used to purchase fans for The Salvation Army in communities across Texas.
All donations help low-income seniors, qualified families with children, and adults with disabilities stay cool in the summer heat.
Donations can also be made online at westlakehardware.com/fan-drive. You can find Westlake Ace Hardware locations in the following Texas communities: Arlington, Carrollton, Colleyville, Farmer’s Branch, Fort Worth, Lewisville, Mansfield, McKinney, Midland, Odessa, Princeton, San Angelo, and Seagoville.
Byrne-Harris added, “The Salvation Army and Westlake Ace Hardware have brought much-needed relief to thousands of people during the past decade through the Fan Drive. This partnership is very special to us and we look forward to it continuing far into the future.”
