Get Back Up - Michelle's Story

Sep 19, 2024

Michelle Lee has been a resident at The Salvation Army’s Center of Hope for about three months. Like many who walk through the shelter’s doors, she arrived needing stability, support, and hope that her future could be brighter. “I thank God I’m here,” Michelle shares. “The Salvation Army has given me a whole lot of hope.” With the support of the Center of Hope, Michelle is working toward achieving her goal of having a house of her own, a job, and the ability to pay her bills. “The Salvation Army helped me learn what salvation is and that God is keeping an open door for me,” she says. “God wants me to rely on Him. Even though I might get knocked down, God wants me to get back up.” Even in difficult times, Michelle’s renewed faith has become a central pillar of her life. “No matter what I go through, I will be in church every Sunday morning,” she says with determination. “I will keep studying His Word.” While Michelle’s journey is still unfolding, her resolve to succeed is clear. With The Salvation Army by her side, Michelle is doing the hard work to achieve a better life. Michelle is a reminder of the powerful impact of the power of hope. Michelle has found hope in God; today, she isn’t just surviving - she’s building a future filled with possibility and purpose.
