Give Her the Gift of Prayer

May 9, 2025

Behind many strong families is a mother who prays. Her prayers may never be seen or heard—but they are powerful. They’ve carried children through heartbreak, lifted up families in crisis, and invited God’s peace into the home again and again.

James 5:16 reminds us, “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” This Mother’s Day, return the gift. Pray for your mom—her health, her heart, her hopes. If you can, let her hear it. A simple prayer, spoken with love, may mean more to her than any gift you could wrap in a box.

If prayer feels unfamiliar or intimidating, start small. Thank God for her life. Ask Him to give her strength, rest, and joy. If she’s no longer with you, pray with gratitude for the years you shared and ask God to help you carry her wisdom forward.
