We equip youth for today and empower them for life.

youth services

Youth of all ages come through our doors. Some want to learn a new skill after school rather than go home to an empty house. Some need an adequate dinner or help with homework. Others just want to have a conversation with someone who is willing to lend an ear. No matter the need – educational, physical, emotional or spiritual – we see each child’s potential in life and help them see hope for a bright future through our youth services.

The Salvation Army operates more than 400 after-school programs nationwide.

By offering after-school programs, summer school programs, free summer camps, and summer programs for high school students, we provide a safe place for children living in low- and moderate-income neighborhoods to learn, play, and connect. Perhaps most importantly, each extracurricular after-school program provides a supervised opportunity for children of all ages to broaden their interests, abilities, and aspirations.

How we help empower youth

Girls and Boys can join us at The Salvation Army of Albany for a night of fun getting to know Jesus through dance, drama, and character building. Our classes are broken down by age group giving children the opportunity to learn different disciplines and build character to learn about others, themselves, and Christ. Youth Program classes happen every 1st and 4th Tuesday.

CHARACTER BUILDING PROGRAMS
Character building starts young and helps determine who a child will become in life. These programs develop a youth’s unique individuality and personal strengths based on Biblical principles.

  • Youth Snacks start at 6:00 PM
  • Youth Character Building Programs start at 6:30 PM

MUSIC & ARTS
The Salvation Army has a wonderful musical heritage, and this is reflected in vibrant music and arts programs across Georgia. Youth with a passion for the creative arts crave an outlet to perform, collaborate with other musicians and learn new techniques.

  • Dance & Drama classes start at 7:00 PM.
