As a member, you become a champion of The Salvation Army's mission, advocating for positive change and harnessing your unique skills and expertise to drive meaningful progress. By lending your voice and strategic insights, you have the power to shape the direction, policies, and initiatives of our organization. This opportunity allows you to collaborate with like-minded individuals, building a network of passionate and influential changemakers who share your commitment to creating a better world. Who We Are

Echelon: Elevating Communities with The Salvation Army

Welcome to Echelon, a dynamic and passionate community of young professionals dedicated to making a positive impact on the world through The Salvation Army. Echelon is not just a network; it's a movement, a force for good, and an opportunity to be part of something greater than yourself.

Echelon seeks to mobilize the next generation for The Salvation Army by providing opportunities for young adults to engage with the organization through fellowship and networking, donations and fundraising, and service and volunteering.

Echelon members participate in a variety of networking, volunteer, and fundraising activities. These activities directly support Salvation Army services within a chapter’s local community. Whether we are serving, attending one of our social events, or raising money, you will find Echelon is a connected community full of people who are making a difference.

Our Mission:
Echelon is committed to supporting The Salvation Army's vital work in communities across the globe. Our mission is clear: we aim to elevate the lives of those in need by raising awareness, volunteering our time, and fundraising to support critical programs and initiatives.

Why Join Echelon:
When you become an Echelon member, you become a part of a powerful force for good. Your involvement translates into tangible, positive change in communities facing challenges such as homelessness, hunger, addiction, and disaster recovery.

Get Involved:
Ready to be a force for change? Join Echelon and discover the joy of giving back while connecting with others who share your commitment to making the world a better place.

Together, we amplify our impact, create lasting change, and elevate communities. Join Echelon and be part of a movement that stands for compassion, service, and social responsibility. Your journey of impact begins here.

Organized in 1962, the Women’s Auxiliary has been serving the Greater Birmingham area for over 60 years. This group has tremendous community support and is among the largest in the world.  As a member and volunteer of the Women’s Auxiliary, you will have many opportunities to share your talents and skills, with members of the Women’s Auxiliary providing over 16,000 volunteer hours last year alone.

Moreover, you will enjoy a unique camaraderie with many of the active members of the Auxiliary.  Seen by many as the leaders of vital Christmas programs such as the Angel Tree Program, the Women’s Auxiliary also plays an important part in the entire range of assistance offered to those in need by the local Greater Birmingham Area Command.

Members participate in arts  & crafts, fundraising events, fellowship, veteran appreciation events, culinary pursuits, and many other wonderful volunteer programs. This group of women are generous with their time and talents and work hard to further the mission of The Salvation Army in all that they do.

If you would like to join the Women’s Auxiliary or would like to request more information, please contact Darlene Ray at 205-328-4015 or at Darlene.Ray@uss.SalvationArmy.org.
