The Salvation Army recognizes that holidays can bring added financial and emotional stress for families in need. We offer a variety of services to help families and individuals make it through more difficult holiday seasons.
Through your kindness, a family can typically receive presents, clothing and a food voucher to supplement Christmas Dinner.
And, children can receive a Christmas they'll never forget through The Salvation Army Angel Tree Program.
When disaster strikes, The Salvation Army mobilizes its officers, employees, and volunteers wherever needed. We are continually recruiting volunteers for this effort. For more information call 409-939-9013
A safe place to call home is a fundamental need. Whether providing rent/mortgage assistance to keep someone in their home or finding a warm bed for someone who is already outside, The Salvation Army works to ensure the safety and dignity of all God’s children and that is why we offer The Center of Hope, a housing-focused shelter program where guests are expected to work with a caseworker toward self-sufficiency.
Emergency Shelter - 7 days a week - Dinner 5:00 PM - Check-in 6:00-8:00 PM
We provide summer camps and after-school programs for students of all ages, and numerous music, art, and athletic programs for aspiring youth.
In our fight against hunger and food insecurity, we provide over 56 million meals annually through food pantries, meal programs, community gardens, and more.
Community Meal - 7 days a week
Galveston Corps Parking - 5:00 PM
During our Community Meal, we share a hot to-go meal everyday from the front porch of The Center of Hope in Galveston. Food boxes are available for families in need at both locations every other week.
The love of God is at the heart of what we do. Our service-oriented approach to faith is shared each Sunday at services throughout the country.
