Captains Chris and Carla Raymer

Corps Officers

Captains Chris and Carla Raymer joined The Salvation Army as Corps Officers in June 2017. Both have been involved in the ministry of The Salvation Army since they were children. And as children to Salvation Officer parents, both Chris and Carla got a firsthand look at what it means to serve the least, the last, and the lost.

While being faithful members of The Salvation Army church, Captain Chris received a Bachelor of Science in Hotel/Restaurant Administration from Oklahoma State University and worked for Omni Hotels and Resorts. Captain Carla received her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Georgia State University. After a clear encounter with God, both Chris and Carla followed the calling to ministry through The Salvation Army Evangeline Booth College in Atlanta, GA, receiving their Bachelor of Arts in Practical Ministries. Their passion for serving others led them to be pastors and Corps Officers in Frederick, MD and Greensboro, NC before joining The Salvation Army of Gwinnett County.

Chris and Carla have three beautiful children and love music, cooking, and enjoying the outdoors. They find it a privilege to be able to represent The Salvation Army on the front lines of meeting human needs without discrimination. They would like to thank the community of donors, volunteers, and supporters who have come alongside The Salvation Army to accomplish such a great task.
