Member Policies

EXCELLENT SERVICE FOR EXCELLENT PEOPLE

All applicants must fall under the definition of the membership type for which they are applying.

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES:

Individual:   Any person 18 years or older offers access to the swimming pool, open gym, and fitness center as well as priority sign up for classes and events.

Household:  A household consists of at least 1 adult plus 1 other person, plus dependents, all living in the same household. 

RESIDENCY POLICY: 

A Household membership is defined as any group of individuals legally living in a single residence.  ALL adult household members with the Household membership type are required to show valid proof of address for each adult family member. The following are considered valid proof of address: non-expired driver’s license or photo ID, current utility bill (including landline telephone, electric, water, gas, cable, etc. Wireless phone bills cannot accepted), current rental or mortgage agreement, current auto or health insurance policy, current paycheck/check stub, work ID or badge, if address is included. Addresses must match the Primary account holder.

HOW TO APPLY FOR MEMBERSHIP:

Anyone interested in becoming a member of the Kroc Center must complete and submit a Membership Application which can be found online or at the Welcome Desk. If completing membership online, bring in proof of residency information for additional adults on the same plan. Prorated membership fees will be due at the time of enrollment and may vary depending upon enrollment date. All applicants over the age of 17 are required to have a photo identification, proof of address, and/or age verification. Members without identification will not be allowed into the Kroc Center.

FORMS OF PAYMENT:

*The Kroc Center does not require a contract for membership. However, if the membership becomes inactive, a $50 registration fee is required to reactivate your account.

Full payment of balance for current month, and if applicable, the following month must be made at the time of registration. For the initial payment, the Kroc Center will accept cash, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover (no American Express). Payment will be taken out of the member’s credit card account on the 20th of each month, as payment for the upcoming calendar month.

POLICIES:

Non-Transferable and Non-Refundable Membership Policy:

After an application has been processed, memberships are non-transferable and non-refundable.  Memberships cannot be transferred from one member to a new individual once purchased.

Changes to Membership:

The primary member may make account changes. To remove and/or add a member, or give new account information, complete a Member Change form at the Welcome Desk by the 10th of the month. Members also have the option to place the membership account on hold for up to 3-months per calendar year.

Class Refund/Transfer Requests:

Individuals wishing to be considered for a refund or class transfer must complete a Refund/Transfer Request Form available at the Welcome Desk. Requests for certain refunds are assessed an administrative processing fee.

Membership Cancellation:

Members must submit written, dated and signed Membership Change Form to cancel. Request must be submitted by the 10th day of the month for it to become effective in the following month. If a cancellation request is received after the 10th of the month, the member will be responsible for the following month’s membership fees. If a member cancels or if membership payments lapse for more than 90 days, the appropriate registration fee will be charged to reopen the membership account. Only the primary adult on the account may cancel a membership. Identification and a signature are required. Forms are available at the Kroc Center Welcome Desk.

Members:

All members are required to have their membership ID card available to show Kroc Center staff at any time while in the Kroc Center. All members must bring their member cards to check-in.

For safety precautions, Kroc Center members and guests are asked to check in each time they enter the facility.

ID Cards:

Any membership ID card reported stolen while in the Kroc Center should be reported to the Manager on Duty or Welcome Desk staff.  ID cards reported lost or stolen will be invalidated.  If a membership ID card is found after being reported as lost or stolen, it should be turned in to the Welcome Desk.

Any person attempting to enter the Kroc Center with a stolen ID card will have it confiscated immediately.  Membership ID cards not belonging to the bearer or suspicious use of membership ID cards may result in confiscation.  The bearer and owner will face disciplinary action (suspension or termination of Kroc Center privileges) and may face additional penalties from police officials in the case of misused membership ID cards.

Replacement Cards:

Membership cards are not to be misplaced or misused in any way. If members damage, bend, cut or lose the membership card they are responsible for getting a replacement card.

Member Guest Pass Policies:

Guest Passes are for sale for use on the date of purchase. All adults purchasing a Guest Pass must provide Valid Photo ID, as all guest and members are screened prior to entry for child-safety purposes. All guests must be accompanied by a current member who is age 18 or older.

Children 3-months or older are required to have a membership or Guest Pass to be admitted to the facility, including Child Watch. Passes are valid the entire day; however, individuals must be able to present their Guest Pass Receipt and/or wristband to the Welcome Desk for re-entry.

Guest Pass holders must follow all Kroc Center policies & procedures.  Passes are limited to 2 guest per membership plan per visit.

Guest passes are non-refundable.

Program Participants:

All members and non-members that are participating in a program must check in at the Welcome Desk prior to going to the program location.  Non-members must remain in the program area at all times.

Visitors:

All non-member guests not participating in a program or rental must sign-in at the Welcome Desk. Tours will be given as requested.

Rental Participants:

Check in procedures for rental participants will vary based on the arrangements made in advance.   In most cases, they will be required to check in at the Welcome Desk.

Refusal of Admission:

The Kroc Center staff reserves the right to deny admission to anyone who appears to be under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, or in any violation of any facility rules and regulations.

SUPERVISION REQUIREMENTS

Only children age 14 and older are allowed to be at the Kroc Center unsupervised (without their parents or guardians present). The only exceptions to this policy are when children are participating in certain organized Kroc programs or activities. Programs are subject to change, so we encourage members to consult member services with questions.
All children age 13 and under must be directly supervised by their parents or guardians while on Kroc Center property. The only exceptions to this policy are when children are participating in Kroc Center organized and supervised activity that requires signing in and signing out (such as Child Watch, Kroc Reach, fee-based programs, etc.).
Parents or guardians of children 13 and under must remain on Kroc Center property while their children are onsite. The only exceptions to this policy are certain specified programs. The Kroc Center will specify policy per program upon registration.

CHILD WATCH:

The short-term Child Watch is a bonus for Kroc members, designed for children 3 months to 13 years of age. This service allows members to drop their child off for up to two hours a day while they utilize the facility or participate in a Kroc Center program or activity.

Child Watch is a limited-availability, drop-in only service that is strictly used on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Although the Kroc Center’s short-term Child Watch is not a licensed child-watch program and is not obligated to follow the codes set by the state of Tennessee, the staff maintains high standards of service that ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.

Parents must remain at the Kroc Center (inside or outside) for the duration of the child’s visit in the short-term Child Watch.

KROC REACH

The Kroc Reach program is a bonus for Kroc Members, designated for youth 10-17 years of age.
This service allows youth to check themselves in. Parents are allowed to be off-site for the duration of their child’s visit while they are enrolled in Reach. A parent or guardian must be present to check a child age 10-13 years of age out of the program, youth 14 and up can check themselves out.

PARENT PAGING POLICY:

The Child Watch staff reserves the right to page a parent to pick up their child if the child becomes ill, is continuously crying for an extended period of time, is having serious disciplinary problems, is not adjusting in a positive manner, or has an accident.  Anytime a parent/guardian is paged, he/she must report to Child Watch within 10 minutes.  It is recommended that in order to avoid missing any pages, parents/guardians should not use headphones while their child is in the Child Watch. Additionally, parents/guardians are asked to keep their cell phones visible, accessible and on at all times.

PHOTOGRAPHS AND RECORDINGS: Except for a participant in a private function, no member or guest shall take photographs or make audio or video recordings on Kroc Center premises without the advance approval of a Director. The consent of each person to be photographed or recorded should be obtained in advance except where authorized by a Director for Kroc Center purposes.

PROCESS, SUSPENSION, LONG-TERM

In order to facilitate positive life experiences while at the Kroc Center, mutual respect between members, guests, and staff is required at all times. Failure to observe these policies will result in disciplinary action and/or termination of membership privileges. Center personnel have the right to refuse service to anyone deemed disruptive or abusive.

Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult (18 and over) unless enrolled or participating in a program.

Refrain from the use of foul language, abusive actions, and inappropriate behavior.

Youth must be 12 years of age or older in order to enter the fitness area and adult group fitness classes. If a child is between 12-13 years of age, they must be enrolled in REACH, with a parent/guardian, or in another Kroc Program in order to use the fitness center and group exercise classes.

Shirt and shoes must be worn in all areas outside of pools and sun deck. No swimwear or wet clothing is allowed outside of aquatic areas. Proper workout attire is required in fitness area (no street shoes or jeans.) Any clothing with logos or messages must be acceptable in a family setting.

Bicycles, roller blades, skateboards, scooters, hoverboards, or pets (excluding service animals) will not be used inside the facility.

Alcohol and/or drugs are not allowed anywhere on the premises.

Smoking and/or use of any type of smokeless tobacco, cigarettes, cigars, e-cigarettes, vapes are prohibited in the facility or on facility grounds.

Weapons of any kind are forbidden in the facility or on facility grounds. This includes the parking lot area.

Pants shall be worn at the waist.

Locker Use:

Lockers are for use by participants at their own risk. Locks may be placed on lockers but must be removed after the day’s visit or will be removed by the Kroc Center and contents will be donated to the family store.

Our guidelines ensure The Kroc Center emphasizes safety in the following ways:

Salvation Army personnel (officers, employees and volunteers) are trained in child abuse prevention and are mandated to report suspected child/vulnerable adult abuse.

The Kroc Center maintains video surveillance of the facility 24 hours a day. In order to promote a safe and secure environment, The Salvation Army Kroc Center has placed video cameras in various locations.

Instructors are trained in appropriate interactions with Kroc members to enhance learning by creating a safe and inviting environment. Programs involving children are closely monitored to ensure adequate supervision and safe interactions between Kroc personnel and children.

As part of our commitment to the safety of children and vulnerable persons, The Salvation Army Kroc Center reserves the right to consult public sources to determine whether any member or guest of any member poses an unreasonable risk of harm to its patrons, staff, or visitors. The Kroc Center constantly adapts and enhances safety protocols to adjust to needs. Salvation Army personnel and volunteers undergo criminal background checks. Adults accessing the facility will be screened against public sexual offender registry.

The Salvation Army Kroc Center reserves the right to remove from the facility and terminate the membership of any member who fails to comply with any rules and regulation or otherwise breaches the Code of Conduct, in which case member will not be entitled to a refund of dues.

KROC CENTER CODE OF CONDUCT

CHILD WATCH RULES

Child Watch is a short-term drop-in service designed for children ages 3 months through 13 years of age. This service allows members and guests to drop their child/children off, for no additional charge for up to two (2) hours per day, while they are able to utilize the facility or participate in a Kroc Center program or activity. NOTE: Parents/guardians must remain in the Kroc Center facility (inside or outside) for the duration of the child’s visit to Child Watch. We adhere closely to state regulations and guidelines; however, Child Watch is not a licensed child care service. The staff maintains high standards of service that ensure the safety and well-being of all participants. All staff is trained in CPR, First Aid, and Safe from Harm as well as has experience working with children.

OPENING HOURS

MONDAY-FRIDAY: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM

4:00 PM – 8:00 PM

SATURDAY: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM

TIME LIMIT, LATE FEE AND MISSED CALLS

There is a 2 hour maximum time limit per day. Child Watch is a limited availability drop-in only service that is first come, first serve. Capacity is determined based on the ages and activity levels of the children. We use our discretion when determining capacity. Time will be kept by the clock located in the Child Watch area via Kid Check (Note: This time can be split for one hour in the morning and one hour in the evening, if desired).

For every 10 minutes over the scheduled pick-up time, a late fee of $10.00 will be charged per child.

You are given a warning the 1st time you are late and the 2nd time you will incur a fee. Parents or guardians who receive a 3rd infraction of the policy or lack of payment; Child Watch privileges will be suspended.

Anytime you are called, you must report directly to Child Watch. To avoid missed calls, we recommend you keep your cell phone visible, accessible and near you at all times. Parents/guardians should not use headphones while their child is in the Child Watch department. If a called is missed, you will be given a warning. If it occurs again, you will incur a fee.

Child Watch staff reserves the right to contact parents at any time to pick up their child if your child:

  • Becomes ill
  • Continuously cries for an extended period of time
  • Has serious disciplinary problems
  • Does not adjust in a positive manner
  • Has an accident – physically or a potty accident.

Prior to bringing your child to Child Watch, we ask that you pre-register your child for our services online at kidcheck.com or via Kroc website (krocmemphis.org)

When filling out your child/s registration it’s very important to fill out any allergies (e.g. peanuts, fruits, pollen, etc.). Also, list any medical conditions (e.g. Asthma, Epilepsy or anything else you feel we should be made aware of to be able to best look after your child/children). This may include any developmental issues (e.g. ADHD, learning disabilities, etc.). This is not to label your child/children, but to present the best environment, keep your child/children safe while promoting their independence to enable them to have a great experience while with us at Child Watch.

CHILD WATCH CHECK IN /OUT POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

  • All children must be scanned or signed in at the main Kroc Center Welcome desk with a parent or guardian. 
  • To check your child/children into the Child Watch department the Parents/guardians will scan their membership card again at the Child Watch area where their cell phone number will be obtained in order to get access to their Kid Check account. Information including the child’s name, time-in, parent/guardian name and parents location. This is to be verified by the Child Watch staff (Note: if another guardian will be collecting your child from the Child Watch department he/she needs to be on the Kid check account and please inform the Child Watch staff of this as it’s for the safety of your child/children).
  • A printed sticker will then be placed on the child’s back, and the parent/guardian will also receive a sticker with a matching code and the time of check in printed on the right bottom corner of the sticker. The sticker must remain on the child and the parent/guardian must hand in the sticker when coming to check-out his/her child/children.
  • Only the parent/guardian with the sticker will be allowed to pick up the child/children.
  • The parent/guardian may be required to show a valid picture ID or scan their Kroc membership card if they have misplaced their sticker.
  • The Child Watch staff is responsible for verifying that the child’s sticker code matches that of the parent/guardian sticker code on collection.
  • The Child Watch staff will collect both the parent/ guardian’s and the child’s sticker before exiting the Child Watch area.

HEALTH AND SAFETY GUIDELINES

In an effort to ensure the health and safety of all Child Watch participants and staff members, the following guidelines have been established:

SICK CHILDREN

Children with a contagious illness or fever are not permitted to use Child Watch. In order to prevent the spread of germs, the staff reserves the right to deny a child/children entry to Child Watch if the child/children appear to be sick. If the child gets sick during their appointment, the parent/guardian will be notified immediately and informed of the child’s condition to remove the child from the area as quickly as possible.

MEDICATION

Child Watch staff CANNOT at any time administer medication to children. It is very important for children with Asthma who use an inhaler to carry it with them, as we sometimes do physical activities in our program. We strongly recommend children with severe allergies who require an EpiPen® to carry this with them in a labeled bag. In order to provide a safe environment for our children, please do not to carry any unnecessary medications in their bags.

CHILDREN IN DIAPERS/POTTY TRAINING

Prior to arrival, you should attend to the child’s restroom needs as much as possible.

  • In order to meet your child’s needs, we require extra diapers to be labeled and left for use.
  • If your child is being potty trained, please leave an extra set of clothes as accidents occasionally happen.

BATHROOM RULES

  • Children 4 years and older are to use the bathroom with no adult (or additional) assistance.
  • It is generally understood that children under 4 years of age will require the assistance of our Child Watch staff.
  • Only 1 child is permitted in the bathroom at a time.
  • Everyone must wash their hands with soapy warm water after using the bathroom.

CLOTHING AND SHOES

Children should wear clothing that is conducive to an active indoor and outdoor environment. Children will be coloring, playing outside on occasion, and participating in other activities that may cause a mess, therefore, you should dress your children appropriately.

GENERAL SHORT-TERM

CHILD WATCH GUIDELINES

In order to maintain a safe and fun environment for children of all ages, the following rules must be followed and enforced consistently.

ROOM RULES

  • No running in the room at any time.
  • No yelling or screaming.
  • Keep hands and feet to yourself at all times.
  • No name calling or inappropriate language.
  • Follow directions from Child Watch staff.
  • Put toys back where you found them.
  • No playing “guns” or any other violent actions or games.
  • Children must wash their hands with soapy warm water upon entering to the Child Watch room or use hand sanitizer to minimize the germs.

TOYS AND PERSONAL BELONGINGS

  • For babies and toddlers, only comfort toys such as blankets and stuffed animals are permitted.
  • In order to foster an environment for physical activity and sharing, we ask that children do not bring in any outside / personal toys. Each month, we will host a Show and Tell Day for children to bring in their favorite toys.
  • Due to the age range of the children in our care and choking hazards, staff may ask children to put away small objects they may have brought with them (such as hair clips, coins, etc.).
  • Electronic hand held games such as Game Boys, iPads or cell phones are permitted; however, the Kroc Center is not responsible for lost or stolen items. We promote physical activity so we highly recommend that all electronic devices are left at home.

FOOD AND DRINK

  • Due to food allergies, Child Watch is a snack-free zone. However, drinks are allowed in covered containers.
  • Drinks must be labeled with the child’s name and contained in unbreakable, lid- covered, spill-proof containers.

PLAYGROUND RULES

On occasion, we use the playground area of the Kroc Center. Playground equipment is designed for kids 5 years and older. For safety purposes, we also take our younger members onto the field for fun.

ELECTRONICS

  • Occasionally, the television and DVD player will be used in Child Watch. We will show only Kroc management approved children’s programming and movies.
  • We also have an iPad that children use individually in 5 minute increments.

(Note: We understand that not all parents want their child/ children to watch TV or play on the iPad, though staff will try to accommodate this, this may not always be possible for the TV as there are many cases where babies/toddlers are crying and children’s nursery rhythms will be played on the TV to help calm them down).

REASONS FOR AQUATIC CENTER RULES

Our pool rules are designed to ensure a fun, safe aquatic environment for all swimmers. It is important that the rules are enforced consistently and with courtesy and tact.

AQUATICS CENTER DRESS CODE

Appropriate swimming attire is required (no street or workout clothes.) All females are required to wear a family friendly swim suit. All Males are to wear swim trunks or triathlon shorts. No cut-offs, gym shorts, or shorts with zippers. No exposed underwear. We reserve the right to ask them to wear a shirt over their swim suit if it is not appropriate or to put on something more appropriate.

  • Before you come to play, you may want to:
  • Participate in swim lessons for all ages & levels
  • Sign up for the swim team or Master Swim program
  • Join a water fitness class
  • Start swimming laps as part of your fitness program

GENERAL POOL SAFETY GUIDELINES

The rules in this section apply to all areas of the Aquatic Center.  Everyone is responsible for enforcing the above and any additional rules which in their judgment will help to maintain a safe environment.  Failure to adhere to these and any other rules and policies may result in disciplinary action.

  • Children under 14 years of age and younger must be accompanied by a parent, legal guardian, or sponsoring member 16 years or older in the water, within arm’s reach at all times or have the ability to pass a swim test.
  • Camera phones and cameras are prohibited in locker-rooms/family rooms/pool side bathrooms.
  • Obvious non-swimmers or children less than 53 inches are strongly encouraged to be in a Coast Guard approved lifejacket.
  • A maximum of 3 children for every 1 supervising adult must not be exceeded for children 15 years of age and younger.
  • Children must be at least 3 months old to be in the pool.
  • Children 3 months to 3 years of age are required to wear swim diapers and/or tight fitting rubber or plastic pants.
  • Appropriate swimming attire is required (no street or workout clothes.) All females are required to wear a family friendly swim suit. All Males are to wear swim trunks or triathlon shorts. No cut-offs, gym shorts, or shorts with zippers. No exposed underwear. We reserve the right to ask them to wear a shirt over their swim suit if it is not appropriate or to put on something more appropriate.
  • Inappropriate language or behavior is not allowed.
  • State Health Regulations require guests to shower before entering the pools or whirlpool.
  • The facility is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
  • Gum, food, glass containers, alcohol, and tobacco products are not permitted in the pool area or locker rooms.
  • Guests are required to walk in the aquatics area.
  • Outside flotation devices are not allowed unless it is a Coast Guard approved lifejacket.
  • The use of swim fins are at the discretion of the Manager.
  • Flipping, jumping off backwards, or spinning off the edge of the pool is not permitted. This may result in serious injury to the guest involved and/or bystanders.
  • Horseplay is not permitted in or out of the water. This includes dunking, pushing, shoving, arm locks and similar activities.
  • Hanging on lane ropes, railings, volleyball net, or basketball rims is not permitted.
  • Standing or sitting on the shoulders of the other guests is not permitted.
  • Throwing children or other persons is not permitted.
  • Lap Lanes are for adult (16+) use only, with the exception of children that are members of a sanctioned swim team.
  • Cutting through lap lanes is not permitted.
  • Kick boards are provided for use in Lap Lanes and to be used in the correct fashion. Kick boards are not permitted in open swim areas unless being used for Aqua Exercise or Swim Lesson purposes by an adult or for instructional purposes with a parent and child.
  • Diving is not permitted.
  • Hard plastic toys, footballs, and small toys are not permitted, unless for Kroc Center Sponsored Events.
  • Lifeguards may stop any activity which may cause a guest injury or conflict.

WATER SLIDE SAFETY GUIDELINES

  • Riders must be at least 48 inches to ride, and must obey the instructions of the slide attendant.
  • Only one rider at a time.
  • Flotation devices of any kind are prohibited down the slide.
  • Riders must walk up the slide stairs.
  • Riders must wait at the top platform until the person in front of them is all the way down the slide or they are dispatched by the slide attendant.
  • Riders must go down the slide on their back or bottom, feet first.
  • Stopping, standing, and spinning down the slide are strictly prohibited. Diving into/off of kneeling, changing positions, slowing down, stopping, forming chains, or sliding head first is prohibited at all times.
  • Riders are not permitted to be caught at the bottom of the slide or to ride in the lap of another rider.
  • The slide catch pool and stairs must stay clear at all times.
  • Goggles and floatation devices are not permitted down the slide.
  • Swimwear with exposed zippers, buckles, rivets or metal ornamentation are not permitted.
  • Pregnant women and persons with heart conditions or back trouble should not ride the slide; additionally the weight limit is 300 lbs.
  • Watches, jewelry, and other hard items are not allowed down the slide.
  • The water slide may be closed at any time at the discretion of the aquatics staff.

LAZY RIVER SAFETY GUIDELINES

  • Children must be 48 inches or able to pass a swim test to be allowed in the lazy river alone.
  • One noodle per guest, one guest per noodle with the exception of parental supervision.
  • Children and youths under the age of 16 are required to use a noodle unless at the discretion of the Head Guard or Aquatics Coordinator.
  • Noodles must be used in the appropriate fashion.
  • Misuse of the noodles is not permitted.
  • Jumping into the river with, without, or into another guest and/or noodle is not permitted.
  • Horseplay is strictly prohibited in the lazy river.

LILY PAD SAFETY GUIDELINES

  • Children must be able to pass a swim test to be allowed on the Lily Pad alone.
  • Children must go one at time.
  • No horse play/roughhousing is allowed on or near the Lily Pad area.
  • The guest must start and finish completely before the other guest may go.
  • Never use the Lily Pad while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Use the Lily Pad only under lifeguard supervision. Never enter the water or play on the Lily Pad alone.
  • Do not swim or play under the large floatable play elements. Do not dive from the large floatable play elements.
  • The large floatable play elements are not intended as a flotation device for poor swimmers.
  • All large floatable play elements are designed and intended for use by small children, teens, and adults. Weight limits are not to exceed 250 total pounds on any one piece at a time.
  • No combs or foreign objects are allowed in pockets and no jewelry can be worn while playing on the children’s play elements or participating in the activity pool area. No cut off jeans, only swim suits allowed.
  • Participants must be in good health. Individuals with health related problems such as heart or back conditions should not participate in this activity.

LAP POOL GENERAL GUIDELINES

  • Guests should not hang onto or climb over the lane lines.
  • The diving blocks are not to be used by recreational swimmers. Swim team members must be monitored by a coach when using the diving blocks.
  • Lifejackets are not permitted in the Competition Pool.

LAP SWIM GUIDELINES

  • The lap lanes are for Lap Swim, Group Water Exercises, Scheduled Recreational Swim, Swim Team, and Swimming Lessons only.
  • A circular pattern will be used for lap swimming. Guests should stay on the right side of the lane, swimming in counterclockwise direction.
  • Guests that stop between lengths should sit on the side of the pool to avoid congestion.
  • Guests should try to keep pace and maintain a reasonable distance between swimmers. Guests continually passing or being passed should consider moving to a different lane.
  • When passing, guests should notify the swimmer in front and pass in the middle of the lane. Guests should watch for oncoming swimmers.
  • Lanes are designed to accommodate up to 12 guests who are swimming laps in a circular pattern.
  • Kick boards and pull buoys are to be used for fitness training or at the discretion of the Lifeguard and be stored in the appropriate storage area when not in use.

SPA

  • Participants must be 14 years of age or older to use the hot tub. Children under this age should not be allowed in the spa even with an adult.
  • Pregnant women, elderly persons, and persons suffering from heart disease, diabetes, or high or low blood pressure should not enter the hot tub without prior medical consultation and permission from their doctor.
  • The usage time in the hot tub is limited to 15 minutes. Long exposure may result in nausea, dizziness, or fainting.
  • Do not submerge head or face in the hot tub due to extreme water temperatures.
  • Do not use the hot tub while under the influence of alcohol, tranquilizers, or other drugs that cause drowsiness or that raise or lower blood pressure.

SPECIFICATIONS ON AGES

  • Infants – 13 years-old: Must be accompanied by a parent approved guardian at least 16 years of age that is within arm’s reach.
  • 14-15 years-old: Must be accompanied by a parent, legal guardian, or sponsoring member 16 years or older must be present at the same body of water the children are in at all times to include the Outdoor Competitive Splash Pad.
  • 16 years-old: Can use the facility independently, can drop-in for Group Water Fitness classes, and supervise approved family members under the age of 16.

FITNESS CENTER RULES

  • No foul or offensive language.
  • Please take phone calls out of the fitness area.
  • Treat fitness area and others with respect:
  • Do not stand on equipment.
  • Clean equipment when done.
  • 45 minute time limit on cardio equipment when center is busy and all machines are full.
  • No sitting or resting on equipment between sets.
  • Keep personal items in lockers.
  • Return equipment to its designated location after use

Proper gym attire is required at all times:

  • Closed toed athletic shoes.
  • No midriff or revealing shirts or shorts.
  • No jeans, zippers, or harsh material that may damage equipment.
  • No exposed undergarments.

Personal training is provided by Kroc Center Personal Trainers only. Outside providers are not allowed.

Children under 12 years of age are not allowed in the fitness center or in group exercise classes. Children 12-13 years of age must be accompanied by an adult or enrolled in Kroc Programming to make use of the fitness center and/or group exercise classes.

GROUP EXERCISE RULES

  • All participants must place their personal belongings in a locker.
  • Equipment and weights should not be dropped or mishandled.
  • All participants are asked to clean the equipment used after class, with the wipes provided.
  • All equipment must be returned to its original location after class.
  • All equipment malfunctions and maintenance needs should be reported to the Kroc Center staff.
  • Participants in group exercise programming must comply with all instructions given by staff; the Kroc Center staff has the authority and responsibility to direct individuals not abiding by the policies or that are creating disruptions, to leave the facility.
  • Children under 12 years of age are not allowed in group exercise classes. Children 12-13 years of age must be accompanied by an adult or enrolled in Kroc REACH to participate in group exercise classes.
