ANGEL TREE

Every holiday season, The Salvation Army Austin Area Command provides Christmas assistance to more than 8,000 children through our Angel Tree Program. When assistance is needed, parents/guardians apply for their child to become an “angel” and get adopted by the community. Our Angel Tree partners bring joy to thousands of children every Christmas morning.

OVERVIEW OF ANGEL TREE PROGRAM

Adopt: Angel Tree Adoptions NOW OPEN! The Salvation Army leverages hundreds of corporations, organizations, and individuals to adopt angels every November. To fulfill adoptions, partners are given a child’s first name, interests, and clothing sizes. Partners purchase new toys and clothing for their angel and drop off gifts in early December. You can adopt an angel online by clicking the buttons below, or visit us in-person at Barton Creek Square or Lakeline Mall.

Volunteer: From October to late-December, staff and volunteers work thousands of hours at our warehouse in South Austin. Volunteers sort, organize, and inventory Christmas gifts. Group and individual shifts are available as well as several workday shifts and some evening and weekend shifts.

- Preparation (Oct. 17 - Dec. 12): Volunteers are needed to help prepare and organize Angel Tree gifts.

- Distribution (Dec. 13 - 17): Volunteers are needed to help with the distribution of presents to our Angel Tree clients. During distribution, Spanish speaking volunteers are highly encouraged – although everyone is welcome.

- Wrap-Up (Dec. 19 - 30): Volunteers are needed to help inventory and pack up our Christmas warehouse. Check back in November to register for wrap-up shifts.
