Celebrating Birthdays at The Rathgeber Center for Families
Every child deserves to feel loved and celebrated, especially on their birthday. Birthday parties provide children with joy and recognition and create cherished memories that strengthen family bonds. The Rathgeber Center for Families understands how important birthdays are for children. That’s why they host monthly birthday parties, making sure each child feels special and celebrated on their big day.
On June 26th, 2024, The Rathgeber Center for Families put together a safari-themed birthday party to celebrate all the children living in the shelter who were born in June. From animal masks to various sweet treats, this party was an absolute hit. Each birthday child even got to open a gift specifically picked out for them from their wish list. Our families were able to come together with games, safari-themed activities, and painting to celebrate their loved one's recent birthday.
We are so thankful for the ways our community comes together to make our children feel special. Celebrate You, a local charity dedicated to organizing children’s birthday parties, joins us each month to bring the decorations and a handful of on-theme party activities. No party is complete without a delicious dessert, and Bake-A-Wish donates baked goods for each birthday party at Rathgeber. Not only does Bake-A-Wish bring sweets for the monthly party, but they also ensure each child receives a personalized cake on their actual birthday. None of this would be possible without the love and support of our NCL volunteers, who dedicate their time to supporting the parties each month.
