More Than Housing
The Rathgeber Center for Families is a low-barrier, housing-focused emergency shelter serving families with children experiencing homelessness. However, for many clients, it’s more than just an emergency shelter. It is a place of discovering empowerment and learning valuable life lessons with the support of a community.
After facing many barriers and being denied several properties, one client was ultimately approved for housing and will be exiting soon with her family thanks to the services and support she received in shelter. Below are the handwritten letters from the client, expressing her gratitude for her shelter case manager and housing case manager.

The Rathgeber Center staff is dedicated to empowering clients by providing personalized plans of action and constant check points to ensure families are on the right track. In a state of uncertainty, The Rathgeber Center offers a sense of normalcy and community for the families it serves.
