Swing Fore Austin 2023
On May 11, 2023 we hosted our annual Swing Fore Austin event at Topgolf. The evening included team tournament play, an online auction, dinner, and lots of fun! Mini games were also available, such as “Million Dollar Hole” and “Beat the Pro.” We were fortunate to have Joe Ogilvie, former PGA Tour player and current Salvation Army board member, as our “pro.” It’s no surprise Ogilvie’s team ended up taking first place in the tournament!
Through proceeds from our event, online auction bids, and generous donations made by attendees, we raised a total of $42,760. All funds raised at Swing Fore Austin will support families living in our two emergency family shelters, The Rathgeber Center for Families and The Austin Shelter for Women and Children. At these shelters, families experiencing homelessness are provided with case management and other resources needed to overcome barriers and regain self-sufficiency.
