University of Texas Football Players Visit the Children at The Rathgeber Center

Jun 26, 2024 | by Maggie Mullen

On June 12th, The Rathgeber Center for Families got to kick off their summer vacation with some very special guests!

The University of Texas at Austin’s Football Team came to The Rathgeber Center for families once again to celebrate the start of summer break with the children. Eight Longhorns joined our children and their families in some summer outdoors activities. The players spent time with our children playing catch with the football, teaching them how to shoot baskets on the basketball court, drawing with sidewalk chalk, and jamming to some good music. Of course, with this Austin heat, we needed something to keep everyone cool! When everyone got hot from all the playing, they had a chance to cool down with the super awesome foam machine outside in the courtyard. Kids and players alike splashed around in the foam pit that soon covered the whole basketball court. Just when the kids thought the fun was over, the players began autographing merchandise for them to keep, ensuring unforgettable memories and lasting bonds.

Thank you to UT for consistently choosing to spend time at The Rathgeber Center. Your presence here creates such a unique experience and brings so much joy to our families.
