Adoption Rules and Instructions (Online

1.) Choosing your angel – Adopting an angel online begins with visiting our official Angel Tree adoption website! This link is provided to you below. The Angel Tree website will walk you through the process of choosing an angel within your preferred age range and will give you a variety of angels to choose from. After choosing your angel, you simply need to print their tag and go shopping!

For your convenience, our select drop-off locations will have supplies available to help you properly create and seal your bag. Our team would suggest for you to take your tag and shop at a location below to make the process as easy as possible. When you arrive, for each angel you wish to adopt, you will collect: one clear plastic bag and one zip tie which are provided near the adoption tree.

2.) Shopping for your angel – When you shop for your angel, please shop according to the sizes, and wishes indicated on the angel tag. You are welcome to purchase items also not on the tag if they are new and age-appropriate items. We consider angels fulfilled when they have a coat and at least two large toys.

  • Importantly, please do not include candy, gift cards, or gift receipts. All electronic games must be rated “E” for everyone.

3.) Returning your angel – Once you finish shopping for your angel it is time to drop your completed gift bag into a designated drop-off bin. These are found at our adoption sites such as select Walmart's and the Woodland Hills Mall; however, they can also be found at Mattress Firm locations across Tulsa.

To assemble your gift, we ask that you follow the instructions below. Completing these steps ensures that your complete donation arrives at our processing facility and gets matched with the correct angel.

  • Please do not wrap any pieces of your gift.
  • Please do not combine more than one angel in a bag.
  • Assemble your angel accordingly:
    • Place gifts in the provided clear bag.
    • Place the corresponding tag inside with the gifts.
    • Use the provided zip tie to close the bag.
  • If you purchase an item that is too big to fit into the bag, please write the angel name/code on a piece of paper and tape it to the item.

***Gifts must be Returned by: December 12th***

Return Locations: Woodland Hills Mall (Macy's Indoor Entrance), Tulsa Area Command, All Tulsa Area Mattress Firms

FAQs

-Is there a limit to how much I can buy for my angel?

There is no limit to how many gifts you may buy your angel. We only ask that you adhere to clothing and gifts that are age appropriate.

-What if my angel tag does not have a clothing size listed?

If your angel tag does not have a clothing size listed, we would suggest choosing a clothing size that would be most appropriate for the listed gender/age. Please do not provide gift certificates or gift receipts for returns, as these items are prohibited.

-The name/gender/toy requests do not seem to match, what should I do?

If you adopt an angel whose information does not seem to match, you may email our Angel Tree team – Aoktmac.Angeltree1@uss.salvationarmy.org – to confirm the correct information for your angel before you purchase gifts.

-I have lost the tag to my angel, what should I do?

If you have lost your angel tag, please write any information you have on your angel on a piece of paper and affix it to the inside of the bag. Particularly, if you can provide the name and tag number for your angel, that is most helpful. If you cannot find any information on your angel, and you adopted at an in-person location, we can still accept your gift as a forgotten angel.

-My angel asked for a tablet or Chromebook, but I cannot afford to buy them, what should I do?

We understand that not every donor can afford to fulfill angel requests for electronics, and we are grateful for any gifts you can provide. If you have already adopted an angel with this request, we would suggest to instead purchase the secondary wish and supplement your gift with other age-appropriate toys and clothing.
