About The Salvation Army Center of Hope

The Salvation Army Center of Hope serves as an emergency overnight shelter for individuals and families experiencing homelessness in the Augusta area. 

While we remain committed to serving our community during extreme cold weather, the Center of Hope does not operate as a daytime warming shelter or a drop-in warming location.

We provide:

  • Overnight shelter
  • Meals
  • Clothing and hygiene products
  • Supportive services and case management

We serve:

  • Single men
  • Single women
  • Families with children

Location: 1384 Greene Street, Augusta, GA
Services are subject to availability and standard intake procedures.

 

 

Daytime Warming Shelter Information

During extreme cold weather events, the City of Augusta may activate a daytime or overnight warming shelter at May Park.

Daytime warming shelters are intended to provide temporary relief from cold temperatures and are typically coordinated by local emergency management. Hours, capacity, and activation periods may vary depending on weather conditions and staffing.

For the most current information regarding the May Park warming shelter or other temporary warming locations:

  • Call 2-1-1
  • Contact Augusta Emergency Management
  • Refer to official City communications during severe weather events

The Salvation Army does not operate the May Park warming shelter and does not manage its hours or availability.
