The Salvation Army Central Virginia Announces Online 2025 Angel Tree Registration Dates
RICHMOND, Va. (AUG. 15, 2025) – The Salvation Army of Central Virginia is preparing for the 2025 Angel Tree Program, which provides coats, toys, and clothing to children and families who might otherwise go without during the Christmas season. Families experiencing financial hardship, with children age 13 years or younger as of December 25, 2025, are encouraged to apply.
The Salvation Army of Central Virginia serves 16 localities, including ZIP codes in: Ashland, Charles City, Chesterfield, City of Richmond, Chesterfield, Colonial Heights, Dinwiddie, Hanover, Henrico, Hopewell, King William, King and Queen, New Kent, Petersburg, Powhatan and Prince George.
Online registration: September 23-26
This year, registration for families in need will take place online at www.salvationarmycentralva.org from Monday, September 23 through Thursday, September 26. Access will open 9 a.m. daily and close when slots are filled. Spots are highly desired and go quickly.
- New this year: All eligible Central Virginia ZIP codes from the listed localities will be able to register starting at 9:00 a.m. on September 23, rather than having designated dates by location. This change offers families more flexibility and clarity as they complete the Angel Tree process.
In-person interviews: October 7-10
Once an application is submitted and approved, clients will receive an email with an appointment time during October 7–10 for a required in-person interview at The Salvation Army Christmas Center (9204 Stony Point Parkway). At the interview, parents and/or legal guardians must verify eligibility and their relationship to the child(ren).
Silver Bells Program
The Angel Tree Program also supports Silver Bells, seniors ages 62 and older experiencing financial hardship. Silver Bells registration does not require online pre-registration. Eligible seniors can come directly to the Christmas Center between October 7–10 for an in-person interview to verify eligibility.
Additional dates to note:
- November 1 – Angel Adoption begins online and in-person.
- December 16–18 – Angel Tree Distribution at the Christmas Center (9204 Stony Point Parkway).
