Employee Spotlight: Lindsey Bayne

Oct 6, 2023

Take a walk through the halls of The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Community Center in Greenville, and you're likely to hear the sounds of active adults participating in group fitness classes, the clink of barbells as they land on the fitness room floor and the laughter of children as they participate in organized athletic programs. As Fitness Manager for Kroc Greenville, Lindsey Bayne oversees all aspects of the fitness programs at the facility, where she says her favorite part of her job is connecting with members of the community as well as working with her incredible teammates.

"I help ensure the fitness instructors have everything they need, monitor ways we can better connect with the community, and spend time every day getting to know our members," said Lindsey. She goes on to say,

"I enjoy working as part of the The Salvation Army of Greenville because it is well established, trusted, and the organization genuinely cares about the wellbeing of everyone in our community: spiritually, financially, physically, mentally, and emotionally."

When she's not managing the fitness programs at the Kroc, Lindsey serves as an active volunteer in the community. She serves as part of a member care team with Action International Ministries, as well as with the college ministry at Taylors First Baptist Church. She and her family also work with Child Spring, and sometimes host children from other countries that come to the area for life-changing surgeries.

Lindsey is driven by her faith in Jesus Christ. "Jesus gave me a new life and He restored me!  That inspires me to look to others as more important than myself and to live with an intentional purpose." One of her favorite Bible verses is 1 Corinthians 9:24-25, "Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever."

She also enjoys hobbies, including being outdoors, traveling, and trying new things with her family.  She also loves backpacking, cycling, road trips, and spending time with her husband, two children and three dogs.

Drop by the Kroc Center in Greenville and meet Lindsey and her team of fitness instructors soon! They'd be happy to show you what's new at the facility, as it recently re-opened its updated fitness center with new equipment and activities for people of all ages.
