Angel Tree Sign-Ups Are Happening Now for the Greater Lynchburg Community!

Lynchburg, VA (October 10, 2016) – The Salvation Army of Greater Lynchburg is taking applications now for those in need of Angel Tree gifts this Christmas season. Scheduled sign-ups are taking place this week; Oct. 10 through Oct. 14 during the following times: 9 am -12 pm and 1 pm -3 pm at the Salvation Army of Lynchburg 2211 Park Ave. Please visit salvationarmypotomac.org/lynchburgva/ for information regarding alternate dates and sign-up extensions.

The Angel Tree Program for the Salvation Army began in Lynchburg, VA in 1979 and has since expanded into an international movement providing gifts to children whose families are financially struggling during the Christmas season. Last year, more than 2,400 needy children living in the communities of Lynchburg, Bedford, Amherst, Altavista, Campbell and Nelson County received new gifts and clothing as a result of this program.

Volunteers are also needed to help organize and dispense donations during the months of November and December. Individuals who volunteer cannot be recipients of the Angel Tree program.
