42nd Annual 11Alive Can-A-Thon

42nd Annual 11Alive Can-A-Thon Image

December 6, 2024 will mark 42 years of The Salvation Army of Metro Atlanta and 11Alive partnering to re-stock the Army's 13 food pantries through the annual Holiday Can-A-Thon. This food drive, also supported by Publix, enables The Salvation Army to fill the gap during the holidays and throughout the year for the 1 in 8 people experiencing food insecurity, meaning they don't know where their next meal will come from.

YOU can bring HOPE to our neighbors in need by collecting and donating non-perishable food items on December 6 at several locations throughout metro Atlanta. Whether you're a company interested in giving back or a community member who wants to help their neighbor in need this holiday season, Can-A-Thon is a great opportunity to Ring the Bell Atlanta!

Here's how it works - Collect nonperishable food items throughout the next few months and on Fri., Dec. 6 between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., drop your donation off at one of our five locations in metro Atlanta. Your donations will help ease the burden of food insecurity for thousands of our neighbors, many of whom suffer in silence.

Locations:

  • Salvation Army of Gwinnett County (Gwinnett): 3455 Sugarloaf Parkway, Lawrenceville
  • Salvation Army of Marietta (Cobb): 202 Waterman Street, SE, Marietta
  • Salvation Army Kroc Center (Fulton): 967 Dewey Street, Atlanta
  • Salvation Army Peachcrest (DeKalb): 3500 Sherrydale Lane, Decatur
  • Trilith Town: 210 Trilith Parkway, Fayetteville

For details on how to participate and the list of the most needed items, visit 11alive.com/canathon. You can also schedule your drop off time here.

New School Challenge

Each year, there are a handful of schools who join this effort by delivering canned goods they have collected to one of our drop-off locations. This year we have created a special incentive for even more schools to get involved. With the support of 11Alive, we have added three friendly competitions for schools to participate in!

The three competitions consist of:

  • Most Cans Collected
  • Most Creative Canstruction
  • Most Heartfelt "Why I Give" Message

Amazon Wishlist - We also have an Amazon Wishlist. This is another great option if you aren't able to make it by one of our locations but want to make a donation of food. Just click here, choose what you want to donate and have it shipped directly to us.
