Captains William and Veronica Conley were commissioned as Officers of The Salvation Army in June 2016. They have had three prior Appointments ad Corps Officers in Saint Petersburg, Sarasota, and Leesburg, Florida.
Captain Will was first introduced to The Salvation Army in June 2011 through the ARC ministry (Adult Rehabilitation Center). There, he experienced an undeniable encounter with Jesus Christ that changed the course of his life. He experienced salvation and forgiveness of sins so profoundly that he has committed to pointing others toward that relationship with Jesus. Captain Will has trained as a professional chef and loves gathering around the table for delicious meals and meaningful conversations.
Captain Veronica was also profoundly impacted by The Salvation Army but at a much younger age. She began attending the Corps in Indiana because an Officer in her town delivered groceries to her house. While there, he invited her and her siblings to the church for youth activities. Before becoming an Officer, she studied Education & Theatre at Indiana University. Upon graduation, she pursued her dream of shaping young minds as a 3rd Grade teacher in Indianapolis, IN.
However, during a Youth Councils weekend in her teenage years, she also had a face-to-face encounter with the Master, receiving the gift of salvation. Because of that meeting and a very challenging childhood upbringing, she became compelled to share the love of Christ by finally saying "yes" to her calling to serve Him as a Salvation Army Officer.
Since their marriage and ministry began in 2016, Captains Will and Veronica have had much to praise the Lord about. Still, if you asked them personally, they would tell you that their greatest joy in life has been becoming parents to their two children, a son named Justus, born on July 3rd, 2018, and a daughter Amelia, born on March 30th, 2021.
