Every day in America, over 6,500 people are hospitalized for substance abuse.
That's 6,500 families - with moms, dads, and kids - disrupted by the effects of addiction.
Florida’s rate of drug abuse and drug-related deaths is higher than the national average. At any given time, approximately 1.5 million Floridians are using illicit drugs. And children of addicts are 8-times more likely to develop an addiction.
The Salvation Army’s Adult Rehabilitation Centers helps to fight the war on drug and alcohol addiction by providing spiritual, social and emotional assistance for men who have lost the ability to cope with their problems and provide for themselves. Each center offers residential housing, work, and group and individual therapy, all in a clean, wholesome environment. The physical and spiritual care that program participants receive prepares them to re-enter society and return to gainful employment. Many of those who have been rehabilitated are reunited with their families and resume a normal life.
The Salvation Army has more no-fee residential treatment facilities than any rehab program in America.
For over 100 years, The Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Centers and Harbor Light Programs have offered spiritual, emotional, and social assistance to those who have lost the ability to cope with their problems and provide for themselves. Our free programs provide housing, food, counseling, community, and employment as we work to treat the symptoms, and ultimately the root causes, of prolonged alcohol and drug dependence.
