Early Learning Center

at The Salvation Army
Sarasota County

Our Early Learning and Childcare program provides an exceptional full-day early learning experience for children ages two to five years that helps them acquire the skills they need to be successful learners when they enter kindergarten.  The program is structured to be affordable for families and the classroom space was designed to be at the highest levels of safety, teacher ability, and creative expression. The play-based, child-centered curriculum fosters joy and a love of learning through play and empowers each child to reach their full potential.

Our loving and caring staff receive ongoing training throughout the year and are ready to prepare each child for a bright future.

Our Mission:

The Early Learning Center at The Salvation Army’s Mission is to create a nurturing environment that not only meets the immediate needs of families but also prepares children for academic and social success as they embark on their educational journey.

Our Curriculum:

The Salvation Army of Sarasota County uses the HighScope curriculum. In a HighScope curriculum program, teachers ignite children’s interest in learning by creating an environment that encourages them to explore learning materials and interact with adults and peers. It supports early learners as they make decisions, build academic skills, develop socially and emotionally, and become part of a classroom community. Active learning is at the center of the HighScope curriculum. It’s the foundation of young children gaining knowledge through natural play and interactions with the environment, events, and other people.
