Captains Tim and Paula Blevins

Captains Tim & Paula Blevins were both born and reared in Rome, Georgia and attended Armuchee High School together. They both attended Floyd Junior College (now Georgia Highlands College). Paula also attended Coosa Valley Technical College (now Georgia Northwestern Technical College). Tim graduated from Berry College in 1982 with a B.S. in Business Administration with a major in accounting. In 2010, all three of the Blevins’ children moved out of their home: two were married, and one moved out of town for a job. They believed this was the door that God opened to begin pursuing their call to full-time Christian ministry. At that time, Tim had been working at Bekaert Corporation for 29 years as their plant accountant. Paula had previously homeschooled their three children, and the Blevins purchased C&S Trophies in downtown Rome in 2011, which Paula managed and operated daily. Around this same time, they met the Salvation Army Corps Officers in Rome, Georgia by way of the trophy business. The Blevins talked with these Officers about The Salvation Army and its mission for reaching people with the gospel of Jesus Christ and meeting their physical needs. The Blevins decided to visit The Salvation Army church in Rome, and shortly thereafter, joined the Salvation Army there in Rome and began their applications to go to the Salvation Army’s Training College in Atlanta, entering the College in 2014 and finishing in 2016.

Captains Tim & Paula Blevins were appointed to serve at The Salvation Army in Griffin in June of 2016, and later at The Salvation Army of Rome in 2020, returning to their hometown to serve. They began serving at The Salvation Army of Warner Robins in 2023. They have been married for 41 years and have 3 grown children and 6 grandchildren.

The Blevins believe that God can open a door for ministry at any point in a person’s life, and that we must look for those opportunities that God places before us to show our love for Him by loving and serving others, and they are thankful that The Salvation Army gives them that opportunity.
