1) The tags have clothing sizes, but the needs/wants section doesn’t always indicate that the child needs or wants clothes. How should we interpret these tags?
Response: The clothing sizes are included to offer options if you want to add items beyond the wish list. The wish list items come directly from the parent, reflecting the child’s specific needs or desires. Clothing is always welcome but is not necessary unless indicated on the wish list.
2) Can I buy more than what’s listed on the Angel Tree tag?
Response: Yes, absolutely! The list on the tag includes key items requested by the family, but you’re welcome to add additional gifts such as clothing, books, or other small toys if you’re able. However, please focus on the requested items first to ensure we meet the family’s immediate needs. The items listed on the Angel Tag reflect the child’s specific requests. We aim to provide each child with at least one outfit and three toys or other gifts. Whatever you purchase for your Angel is very appreciated.
3) Do I need to wrap the gifts?
Response: Please do not wrap the gifts. We need to check and sort each item; wrapping can make this process more difficult. If you’d like, you can include gift wrap or a bag with your donation so the family can wrap the items themselves.
4) Can I include money in the gift?
Response: No, please do not include monetary donations with the gift. You can donate to our Virtual Red Kettle, and the proceeds will help our toy drive.
5) The instructions indicate putting all items in a bag, but some tags request bicycles, which are hard to bag. How should we handle returning bikes?
Response: If you received your tags in person, you can detach the bottom section of the Angel Tree tag and securely attach it to the bike. This bottom tag section is specifically provided for more oversized items that can’t fit inside large garbage bags, helping us ensure the gift reaches the correct child. For any other oversized items, you may also write the code on a piece of paper and attach it. For tags downloaded from our online Angel Tree, please make sure to include a copy of the Angel Tree tag with the child’s code is included in each garbage bag and attach a copy to any oversized items that do not fit into a garbage bag
6) The instructions say to put the Angel tag in the bag. Which part of the tag should go in the bag?
Response: Both the inside and outside of the bag must contain the Angel Tag code and the child’s name. For tags received in person, please include the middle portion of the tag inside the large bag. For items too big to fit in the bag, such as a bike, you can tear off the bottom portion of the tag and attach it to the larger item. If there are no oversized items, you can place both the middle and bottom portions in the bag. For tags downloaded from the online Angel Tree, please ensure a copy of the tag with the child’s code is included inside each bag and oversized item. This helps us ensure every gift reaches the right child.
If your Angel has multiple bags, use extra sheets of paper to label each one. Label each one (“1 of 2,” “2 of 2,” etc.) and make sure the Angel Tag code and the child’s name are written on a piece of paper and placed both inside and outside each bag.
For large items that do not fit in a bag, write the Angel’s code and the child’s name on a piece of paper and affix the paper directly on the item.
7) Can you explain what happens to the bags when you receive them? Are they opened and sorted, or does the parent pick up the bag as is?
Response: When we receive the bags, volunteers carefully sort the items to ensure all gifts are appropriate, safe, and meet the child’s needs. They also verify that each child has a good balance of toys and essential items. Once sorted, the gifts are placed into a new uniform bag for easy identification and are ready for families to pick up on distribution day. This process helps us provide a consistent, organized experience for every family.
8) If the tag or code is in the bag, how do you know which tag has been returned?
Response: At our toy distribution center, volunteers carefully process each bag and then affix a new tag with the code to the outside of a new bag to ensure it matches the correct child. The unique tag code inside each bag helps us identify and organize gifts accurately.
9) Can you pick up Angel Tree gifts?
Response: We're happy to coordinate a pick-up date for organizations or individuals sponsoring more than 25 Angels. Please contact us to arrange a convenient time, and we’ll work with you to ensure a smooth collection process. Otherwise, please return gifts to the location where you adopted your Angel by your group’s deadline or by Dec. 8 to the address below. Please note that your group or organization may have its own deadline.

General Instructions
The items listed on the Angel Tag reflect the child’s specific requests. We aim to provide each child with at least one outfit and three toys or other gifts. Whatever you purchase for your Angel is very appreciated.
Please place the Angel Tag and all unwrapped gifts inside a sturdy, securely tied bag. Clearly label the Angel Tag code and the child’s name on a piece of paper and put it on the outside of the bag. For this purpose, the bottom portion of this Angel Tag can be torn off and affixed to the bag for easy identification, while the remaining tag can be placed inside the bag.
Both the inside and outside of the bag must contain the Angel Tag code and the child’s name.
Return gifts to the location where you adopted your Angel by your group’s deadline or by Dec. 8 to the address below. Please note that your group or organization may have its own deadline.
