White Flag

White Flag Shelter mobilizes end of November to mid-April every night that is projected to hit a temperature of 35F or below.  A White Flag is hung outside the building to indicate that inclement weather shelter conditions have been mobilized.  Registration is 6-8 pm.  The Salvation Army can host up to 25 overnight guests and collaborates effectively with community partners to ensure that additional applicants receive transportation to overflow sites as part of a coordinated overflow system.

The Salvation Army is experiencing a sharp increase in demand of its White Flag cold weather shelter. By February 10th, The Salvation Army’s 2026 White Flag participation had exceeded total nights of stay for the entire winter season 2024-2025.
