HELPING FEED COMMUNITIES EVERY CHANCE WE GET
Over the course of this past year, it has been truly remarkable to see how our community has banded together to show support and love for its neighbors. We have faced every day with a sense of solidarity — and a desire to find creative solutions to new challenges.
With food insecurity being such a rampant problem for so many of our neighbors, your support has been critical in allowing us to be nimble in how we provide food to those who need it.
Thanks to the generosity of friends like you, we’ve had many opportunities to meet the unique food needs of our neighbors. For example, through an unforeseen community collaboration, The Salvation Army was able to safely provide food to more than 800 households impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic — all who lined up in their cars to receive the precious gifts for their families.
And when a cook at a local shelter tested positive for coronavirus, the support of volunteers and donors made it possible for The Salvation Army to provide meals for the quarantined guests. Together, we served more than 1,800 meals to these guests in just two weeks. That’s 1,800 times that a neighbor didn’t have to worry about going hungry. And those 1,800 meals were made possible through the generosity of friends like you.
These are just a few of the many stories of the incredible impact you have had during this difficult year. Your faithful support and partnership keep us going — and we just can’t thank you enough.
