THE MAGIC OF CHRISTMAS
Every year we can see the anticipation of the little ones in our families for Christmas. Some wait for Santa and Rudolph, and some others try to sneak a peek of what their parents have already bought for them.
Unfortunately, that is not the reality for thousands of children in the poorest areas of our city. You see, when you pull out an Angel Tree tag at the mall, corporate event, or at any Salvation Army location, you become part of a chain reaction.
Let me take you back to September, when we sit around the table to plan this year’s Angel Tree…
The conversation revolves around the need we are facing, the challenges we will see, the donors, the volunteers, tags, bags, etc. But everything makes perfect sense when we get to the point of a single child opening a much-desired present that otherwise wouldn’t be there. That is the magic of Christmas.
But there is so much more. The Angel Tree program not only creates countless smiles, it also relieves stress from parents who worry about being able to provide for Christmas.
Today we want to thank all donors and volunteers who took part in the creation of real magic… The magic of Christmas… The blessing of the Angel Tree program.
