In 1890, upon their arrival in Nashville, The Salvation Army’s mid south mission outreach team launched its established ministry of “Soup, Soap and Salvation.” They gathered, fed, bathed and sheltered their first homeless clients, and tucked them in each night with Bible stories.
Today the Center of Hope: A Housing First Initiative provides supportive housing for men, women, and families seeking to improve their quality of life. Currently their are 16 Lofts for families and accommodations for 16 men and 8 women (renovations will soon allow 16).
