Male Counselors

A counselor’s role involves managing camper behavior, acting as a role model and mentor, modeling constructive participation in all daily activities, and ensuring camper safety. Must be over the age of 18 to apply.

Female Counselors

A counselor’s role involves managing camper behavior, acting as a role model and mentor, modeling constructive participation in all daily activities, and ensuring camper safety. Must be over the age of 18 to apply.

Head Counselors (male):

Head Counselors train, supervise, and provide guidance and role modeling to counselors while ensuring the safety and a positive environment for counselors and campers. Must be over the age of 18 to apply.

Lifeguard

Serves as a lifeguard for all camp waterfront operations; provides constant surveillance of waterfront activities; maintains the cleanliness of the pool and lake area; plans swimming activities at camps pool and waterfront.  

Head Lifeguard

Ensures the health, safety, and welfare of those using the aquatics facilities at camp; provides constant surveillance of pool activities; observes swimmers and enforces regulations in the guarding of life and the prevention of accidents; maintains the cleanliness of the pool and pool area.

Head Dining Hall Attendant

Dining hall staff work together in the preparation of daily meals and coordinating the cleanliness of the kitchen and dining areas.

Camp Nurse

The Camp Nurse plans, directs, facilitates, coordinates, and monitors the day-to-day medical needs of all camp staff and campers. 

Camp Nurse Assistant

The Camp Nurse plans, directs, facilitates, coordinates, and monitors the day-to-day medical needs of all camp staff and campers. 

Security Guard

The camp security guard monitors and ensures the safety and well-being of buildings to ensure compliance with housing rules and policies to protect the safety of camp staff and campers.

Maintenance Worker

The maintenance team assists in the maintenance and repair of the camp’s buildings, grounds, equipment, and other facilities. Head Maintenance must have a valid driver’s license to apply.

Audio/Visual & Program Assistant

Prepare, plan, and operate audio/visual equipment for meetings, events, classes, seminars at the Salvation Army camps.  Ensure camp activities are recorded to be used in Salvation Army publications.  Captures video/pictures for Salvation Army publications.    

Canteen Director & Office Assistant

Plans, coordinates, supervises and evaluates the day-to-day operations of the canteen and assists in the office under the office manager; maintains stock of drinks and snacks; conducts inventory of all clothing, food, and beverages; responsible for cash received at the canteen; supervises other staff member assigned to work the canteen.   

Program Director

The Program Director designs and delivers program activities and events that are safe, fun, and appropriate to the camper’s age and abilities. 

Childcare Worker

The childcare worker provides child care services for the DYS’s children including personal care, hygiene, learning and developmental activities and specialized programs.

Housekeeper

The camp housekeeper performs a variety of housekeeping duties for camp to ensure the neatness and cleanliness of the camp facilities on a daily basis.

Challenge Course Specialist

Provides direction on the development and delivery of challenge course activities for the Salvation Army camps.  Deliver challenge course activities that are safe, fun, and appropriate to the campers’ age and abilities.  Manages the physical operation of the challenge course facilities and equipment. 

Challenge Course Assistant

Assists in the operation of challenge course activities for the Salvation Army camps.  Ensures challenge course activities are safe, fun, and appropriate to the campers’ age and abilities.  Assists and participates with camp programs and activities as directed by the Camp Challenge Course Specialist.

Cook

Plans, prepares, cooks and serves nutritional meals and snacks in accordance with established guidelines and schedules; ensures all meals are prepared and served in a safe and presentable manner; cleans kitchen facilities, equipment, and appliances; maintains inventory of kitchen supplies and food in a neat and orderly manner.

Maintenance

Works with the Director of Operations in the planning, scheduling, supervision, monitoring, and participation in the day-to-day general maintenance and repair of buildings, HVAC, plumbing, vehicles, pool, grounds, and equipment; lives on the camp property and assists in the security of camp property and staff; negotiates, supervises, and monitors all contracted maintenance services; ensures all equipment remains in proper working order and compliance with standard operating procedures and safety standards; participate in more difficult repair work; operates a Salvation Army vehicle to pick-up and/or deliver materials; helps maintain an inventory of all Salvation Army property. Assists with guest groups.

Program & AV Specialist

Assists Camp Director with Camp Programs and Operations. Performs a variety of audio and sound related duties throughout the facility, including set up & tear down of all related equipment. Supervises support staff in those areas as needed to include outside contractors and summer staff. Maintains all sound equipment and all storage areas for supplies. Maintains inventory of supplies and orders replacement materials through Divisional Music Director.
