Who We Are

Since 1912, the Charlottesville Corps of The Salvation Army has been committed to building an Army with a daily mission of working alongside the homeless and those in need in Charlottesville. The Charlottesville Corps engages in “boots-on-the-ground” actions as those we help transition from crisis to community. The agency goal is that all who enter our program become part of a supportive community with a network of resources, family, and friends. We are the primary safety net for the greater Charlottesville area. The Salvation Army in Charlottesville has provided services regardless of creed, race, gender or sexual orientation, and is consistently rated among the most efficient charities in America.

Thank you for not forgetting the struggling families and individuals we serve in The Salvation Army.

When I think of your generosity and how you have helped change the lives of people whom you've never met, we are at a loss to express our gratitude.

It is friends like you who make our community a better and kinder place. It is friends like you who make the work of The Salvation Army possible. Our friends make a difference in our society by caring for those who go without.

You are one of our special blessings. Not just because of your generous gifts, but also because of your spirit of sacrifice and generosity.

Aimee Andrews, Director of Development

Aimee Andrews, who was the Development Director at the Salvation Army of Charlottesville from 2020-2023 and has also served as Chair of its Advisory Board and Development Chair, returned to The Salvation Army of Charlottesville in June 2026. She brings to the Corps 25 years of experience in leadership, fundraising, community engagement, and strategic partner development.

“The need could not be greater -- and the stakes could not be higher -- when it comes to serving those facing homelessness in our community,” Andrews said. “We have an extraordinary track record of success, a dedicated team of professionals, and a solid plan for the future that can only be realized by moving on from buildings that can simply no longer support the remarkable work that happens inside them.”
