Radio Host Erick Erickson Partners with The Salvation Army for “Funds for Fuel"

May 18, 2022

ATLANTA, GA (May 18, 2022) – Erick Erickson, one of the most listened to local hosts in the U.S. and the voice of evening drive time on WSB Radio in Atlanta, Georgia for ten years, has teamed up with The Salvation Army to help individuals and families struggling from the increased cost of fuel and other challenges during these unsettled economic times.

Erick Erickson will feature a “Funds for Fuel” campaign during his Erick Erickson Show on May 19-20. Funds raised will be distributed by The Salvation Army to help families and individuals struggling during these times with the rising cost of fuel, groceries, and other necessities. The Erick Erickson Show is hosted by the Editor of The Resurgent, Erick Erickson, and focuses on national news from a conservative perspective. The Erick Erickson Show airs live from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm ET each weekday. In Atlanta, the Erick Erickson Show can be listened to on WSB Radio AM 750 or 95.5 FM.

Many people think of The Salvation Army as bell ringers and Red Kettles at Christmas. Few know the organization's role in helping suffering humanity throughout the year. The Salvation Army provides hope and help to all who are lost, hungry, and hurting—no matter who they are, where they are, or how they arrived. In addition to the holidays, The Salvation Army loves and serves those who are lost, hungry, and hurting—all year long.

“I wanted to see what I could do to help people during these difficult economic times,” said Erickson, “And I could not think of a better organization to help me do that than The Salvation Army.”

The Salvation Army has a presence to help those in need in every zip code in the country. Most people who seek help from The Salvation Army have jobs and families but struggle to overcome the daily challenges of living in poverty.

“We are seeing incredible need increase daily due to the effects of the rising costs of certain foods, infant supplies, household items, and fuel,” said Major Bob Parker, The Salvation Army’s Area Commander for Atlanta Metro, “The Salvation Army anticipates that as costs continue to rise that more and more people will rely on The Salvation Army’s programs and services to get through the coming months. That’s why Erick’s “Funds for Fuel” campaign comes just at the right time to help many who face great need.”

The impact of rising costs often most affects those in our society who can least afford it. The help offered by the “Funds for Fuel” campaign may be the essential assistance for individuals and families that might otherwise be forced to decide between paying for gas for their car or paying for food, utilities, or rent.

For those in need, The Salvation Army works to remove their constant burden of worrying. Each year, they serve more than 25 million Americans, young or old, and at any stage in life.
