Welcome Captains Jae and Hye Park to Greenville
The Salvation Army of Greenville, Pickens & Oconee Counties recently welcomed Captains Jae and Hye Park as Officers for Congregational Life at the The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Community Center in Greenville. They will lead worship and congregational care activities at the Kroc Church, located within the Kroc Center.
Captain Jae Park was born and raised in Daejeon, South Korea. After graduating from Korea Baptist University, he worked as a minister at two churches before moving to the United States in 2007. He then served people as an evangelist and youth minister at The Salvation Army Landmark Corps in the Potomac Division.
Captain Hye Park was born in Seoul and grew up in Daejeon. She graduated from Korea Baptist University and worked as an assistant minister at a church until her marriage to Jae in 2004.
Since their marriage in 2004, Jae and his wife Hye, have been blessed with two beautiful children, Yena (age 17) and Joshua (age 16).
In 2017, Jae and Hye entered the Salvation Army Training College as part of the Messengers Compassion session where they were trained and educated to be Salvation Army Officers. In 2019, after their ordination and commissioning, they were appointed as a The Salvation Army Raleigh International Assistant Corps Officers. A year later, they were appointed to be The Salvation Army Raleigh Area Command Assistant to the Area Commander where they served the community for four years.
Captains Park accepted their new appointments in Greenville and relocated to the area last month.
“Captains Jae and Hye are good and faithful servants who have dedicated themselves to sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with others,” said Major Mike Harris, Area Commander of The Salvation Army of Greenville, Pickens & Oconee Counties. “Their leadership and enthusiasm are already a wonderful addition to our Kroc Church congregation, and we invite all to join us each week in fellowship.”
