Every day, we help thousands of people throughout Georgia. We offer unique, local programs, designed to meet the specific needs of each community we serve. Explore the ways we provide services to every ZIP code in Georgia.
Brighten the Holidays
The Salvation Army recognizes that holidays can bring added financial and emotional stress for families in need. We offer a variety of services to help families and individuals make it through more difficult holiday seasons.
Help Disaster Survivors
When disaster strikes, The Salvation Army responds quickly, mobilizing its officers, employees, and volunteers wherever needed to immediately and effectively provide emergency services to victims and emergency responders.
Helping the Homeless
At The Salvation Army, we have an open-door policy when it comes to those needing help with housing - whether they need a place to rest their head inside our doors or need help finding a way to stay in their own home. All are welcome, and every night, we help thousands of men, women, youth, and children sleep safely and dream of a better tomorrow.
Hunger Relief
In addition to providing free groceries or meals, The Salvation Army helps vulnerable families sign up for public assistance programs that address hunger.
Family and Social Services
Poverty is so often the result of and the catalyst for chronic struggles with hunger, addiction, housing insecurity, mental illness, unemployment, educational voids and various forms of abuse. These interconnected struggles continue year after year, and often span generations. That's why The Salvation Army works to meet the needs of the whole person through short and long-term assistance first alleviating the symptoms of poverty and then addressing the root issues that cause it.
Empower Youth
Youth of all ages come through our doors. Some want to learn a new skill after school rather than go home to an empty house. Some need an adequate dinner or help with homework. Others just want to have a conversation with someone who is willing to lend an ear. No matter the need – educational, physical, emotional or spiritual – The Salvation Army sees each child’s potential in life and helps them see hope for a bright future through our youth services.
Combat Addiction
Each yer, The Salvation Army equips 150,000 people to combat addiction, build work and social skills, regain health and stability, and restore families. In providing its alcoholism and addiction recovery programs and services, The Salvation Army is committed to accommodating all those in need without unlawful discrimination or harassment based on age, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, marital status, disability, citizenship, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or any other characteristic in accordance with our capacity to help.
Serve Veterans
The Salvation Army’s ministry to veterans began with serving coffee and doughnuts to soldiers during World War I. Today, we serve hundreds of thousands of veterans in need every year, providing comfort, support, counseling, shelter, and more. While many veterans struggle to find their way in the years following their service, we strive to show our gratitude by serving them, loving them, and meeting their specific needs.
Fight Human Trafficking
The Salvation Army Emergency Trafficking Program works in collaboration with local law enforcement, FBI, ICE and other community providers to identify, rescue and restore victims of forced labor and sexual exploitation. Through our nationwide case management network, we serve both foreign and domestic victims of all ages and ethnic backgrounds. Along with providing immediate refuge and relief for victims, we take a holistic approach to healing; helping each client move from a state of victimized enslavement to God-centered self-sufficiency.
The Salvation Army of Georgia conducts an internal process that reviews all programs to ensure client satisfaction, program quality and that The Salvation Army National Social Services Standards are followed with the oversight of a licensed Social Worker.
