2025 Sapulpa Spring Charity Dinner
"Havana Nights" – A Celebration of Compassion and Community at the 2025 Spring Charity Ball
On April 24, 2025, the Glenpool Conference Center was transformed into a vibrant slice of Cuba as the Sapulpa Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary hosted its much-anticipated Spring Charity Ball, themed “Havana Nights – Experience the Magic of Havana! Dance, Dine, and Make a Difference!” With colorful décor, Latin music, and a heartfelt mission, the evening brought together supporters, volunteers, and community leaders for a night to remember.
From the festive entryway to the rhythmic pulse of Cuban jazz, guests were immediately swept into the magic of Havana. The event, led by co-chairs Tammy Taylor, Hannah Oswalt, and Cathy Gebetsberger, was filled with energy, elegance, and purpose.
A Night with Heart
The evening opened with a warm welcome from Auxiliary Co-Presidents Tammy Taylor and Hannah Oswalt, followed by an inspiring invocation from Majors Carlyle and Charlotte Gargis of the Tulsa-Metro Salvation Army. Guests enjoyed a delicious Cuban-inspired dinner while professional dancer Steve Lozano brought the rhythm of Havana to life, inviting the crowd to join him on the dance floor.
The ever-popular Moody’s Jewelry Pull was a dazzling highlight, offering guests a chance to win beautiful jewelry while supporting a meaningful cause. Raffles, door prizes, and the powerful “Make a Difference” video reminded everyone of the lives being touched by their generosity.
Honoring a Pillar of Service
One of the most touching moments came as Liz Law, Director of the Creek County Salvation Army Service Center, was honored for her decades of dedicated service. Introduced by Mallory Parker, Red Shield Youth Center Manager, Liz was celebrated for her steadfast leadership and compassion that has transformed the lives of countless youth and families.
In her benediction, Liz shared a heartfelt message of gratitude and hope, reminding guests that true service begins with love and faith. Her words brought the evening full circle—grounded in purpose and community.
Measurable Impact
Displayed throughout the venue was the 2024 Creek County Impact Report, showcasing the Auxiliary’s powerful reach:
130 families received Angel Tree Assistance
Over 4,480 toys and gifts distributed
$28,375 in utility assistance provided
1,800+ volunteer hours contributed
Services reaching 1,436 individuals
These numbers reflect the deep and lasting impact the Auxiliary has on the Sapulpa area.
A Community Effort
None of this would have been possible without the incredible efforts of the Women’s Auxiliary members and generous sponsors, including Carletti Dentistry, OG&E, First United Bank, Reed Architecture, and many more. Community partners like Gone Country, The Native Gypsy Boutique, and the Tulsa Oilers added special touches that made the night even more magical.
Until Next Year...
As the music faded and guests lingered with smiles and warm hearts, one thing was clear—Havana Nights was more than an event. It was a celebration of service, a showcase of generosity, and a reminder of what can be accomplished when a community comes together.
From honoring Liz Law’s legacy to raising critical funds for the Red Shield Youth Centers, the 2025 Spring Charity Ball was a resounding success.
